Chapter Six

The Lady Wilma is about to reach the Peruvian port of Callao.  This city is still Peru's most important port.  Please do a little research and tell why (in your own words, of course) this city is so important.

  1. Callao is important because it is right near Lima (Peru's Capital) so it was an important place for trade of gold during the gold rush.

  5. This city is important because some major exports come out of Callao like: metal, minerals and fish.
