Chapter Ten
Near the end of this chapter, Ben implies to Megan that she might have made a big mistake, and in her mind she tends to agree. Do you agree, too? Please explain.
Chapter Nine
Let's take a look at some vocabulary in this chapter.
First, on page 79, it says Megan "stifled an exclamation of pain." Using context, what did you think "stifled" meant?
Next, on page 80, it says, "Sandy was tremulous in his relief." Using context, what did you think "tremulous" meant?
Finally, on page 81, referring to the sounds Megan heard, it says, "Surreptitious ones that Megan figured out without getting alarmed again." Using context, what did you think "surreptitious" meant?
