Chapter Thirteen

Page 117: "'If I'm not careful I'm going to usurp your mother's right to explain things herself, the way she wants.'"

What part of speech is usurp?  What do you think it means?

    I think it means to let something. I think a verb.

    I think it means to take control. And I also agree with Lexi that it is a verb.

    I think it means to take control of something that your not supposed to. I also think that it is a verb.

    I'm glad everyone knew that usurp is a verb, and yes, it does mean to take over something without having the right to take it over.
