Chapter Six

Toward the end of this chapter, Livvie realizes that she chose to stay with Phil when she could have gone home all along.  What other thoughts do you think might have been going through her mind when she realized this?

    She might have thought that her mom would have come to get her at Peters.

    I think Livvie stayed because in chapter 4, she says that Phil is not like other adults because he listens respectfully and open-minded to whatever she says, so she felt like she could talk to him about what happened with Joyce.

    I agree with you Shannon because in chapter 4 Livvie thinks that Phil is not like other grown ups he listens to whatever she says.So because of that it made her feel like she could talk to phil about Joyce.

    But didn't she seem surprised that she had done this -- almost like she hadn't meant to -- without really realizing how much time had passed?
